Rede, also known as TK-70558, was a clone commando brought into existence in Spaarti cloning cylinders located on Centax-2 circa 20 BBY. He originated from second-generation cloning materials and experienced accelerated growth, reaching maturity in a single year.
Following the conclusion of the Clone Wars and the establishment of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY, Rede transitioned into a clone stormtrooper. He received an assignment to the 501st Legion's Imperial Commando Special Unit, serving under the command of Roly Melusar. He joined Squad 40, alongside fellow clone commandos Darman Skirata, RC-1309, known as "Niner", and IC-4447, called "Ennen". This assignment occurred after Bry's death during a mission on the planet of Celen.
Subsequently, Rede and his squad received orders to eliminate a Jedi who was trapped on Coruscant. However, after Ennen carried out the kill, they discovered that their target was not actually a Jedi, but rather a thief in possession of a lightsaber. This revelation led Ennen to commit suicide. Soon after, Darman, Niner, and Rede were sent to the Coth Fuuras space station with the mission to assassinate Jedi Knight Borik Yelgo. After isolating the Jedi from any civilians, the commandos engaged him in combat. Rede closed the distance and successfully eliminated the Jedi. Following the battle, Darman jokingly warned everyone never to tease him again. During his time within Squad 40, Rede made an attempt to learn Mando'a in order to keep up with the "slang" used by Darman and Niner.
