The Reliant, a significantly altered I-7 Howlrunner, belonged to Seti Ashgad. This vessel acted as his private transportation and was a crucial element in the scheme devised by the droch Dzym to achieve control over the galaxy.
Despite the I-7's original purpose as a starfighter, the Reliant functioned as a medium-sized cargo transport. Its exterior was a golden color, and it featured numerous detachable "mini-hulls" connected to the main body. These smaller hulls possessed the capability to penetrate the defensive barrier surrounding Nam Chorios. Liegeus Vorn had significant involvement in both the ship's design and the coding of its computer systems. Further alterations were implemented by the Newcomers who were devoted to Ashgad. These adjustments incorporated robust defenses against sunlight and solar radiation, both of which were lethal to drochs.
The main purpose for which the Reliant existed was the distribution of the Death Seed epidemic. Every mini-hull contained supplies of drochs. The intention was for these drochs to proliferate throughout the Meridian sector and eventually the entire galaxy, eliminating any living organisms they encountered. Additionally, the Reliant was used to transport Tsil crystals away from Nam Chorios for the Loronar Corporation, intended for utilization in CCIR mechanisms.
Following the New Republic's discovery of the intentions of Dzym and Ashgad, they escaped using the Reliant. Before they could deploy the drochs, Loronar Corporation Needle starfighters obliterated the Reliant, resulting in the deaths of everyone on board.
