Replicator was the designation of a battle droid brought into existence by Mentor. Mentor headed the Directive 7 group throughout the Galactic War period, a conflict that pitted the Galactic Republic against the reconstituted Sith Empire. This droid, Replicator, functioned as an early model that utilized pieces of a self-duplicating droid technology uncovered by Mentor. Its unique ability allowed it to divide into numerous, smaller copies of itself, each with the power to further fragment and reproduce. The droid met its end when it was destroyed on the moon called Zadd, coinciding with the downfall of the Directive 7 movement.
Players encounter Replicator as an optional, extra-challenging enemy within the "Directive 7" Flashpoint found in the video game Star Wars: The Old Republic.
