Republic Engineering Corporation

Republic Engineering Corporation, which was formerly known as Republic Fleet Systems, functioned as a manufacturing entity for both ships and droids.

History

The New Republic established the corporation not long after the demise of Emperor Palpatine. The initial contact with the company was made by Lando Calrissian, who sought the construction of Shieldships to provide defense against the harsh solar radiation of Nkllon. Furthermore, the company played a leading role in the engineering aspects of the New Class Modernization Program. After Thrawn's loss, the company shifted its emphasis to the production of smaller vehicles, including starfighters and speeders.
