In the year 232 BBY, Jedi Master Estala Maru, who was then situated on the Starlight Beacon space station, transmitted proof to the security service indicating that Ambassador Ceeril had fabricated a supposed assassination attempt targeting himself. Ghal Tarpfen, the Head of Security for the station, responded with amusement, commenting that she believed that was actually her responsibility.
The Republic's security service received a mention in the second part of the short story titled "Starlight: First Duty." This story was penned by Cavan Scott and appeared in the 202nd issue of the Star Wars Insider magazine. It was released on April 27, 2021, and formed a segment of the serialized fiction within the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative.
