Corellian rescue frigate
Corellian rescue frigates were a type of frigate with a disc-shaped hull. These vessels were utilized by the Galactic Republic's Space Rescue Corps during the era encompassing the Clone Wars, which was a conflict against the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Functioning alongside the agile Sprint-class rescue craft, the Corellian rescue frigate was a starship that the rescue corps frequently used for more substantial missions. They were also employed in locating missing starships, searching for survivors of space battles, and answering emergency signals during that time.
Production Notes
The first reference to Corellian rescue frigates within the new Star Wars canon appeared in Rise of the Separatists, a 2019 expansion for the Star Wars Roleplaying game series by Fantasy Flight Games. In the Star Wars Legends timeline, the rescue frigate made its debut in the first issue of the Star Wars: Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan: The Aurorient Express comic book miniseries. This miniseries was written by Mike Kennedy, had illustrations by Lucas Marangon, and was released by Dark Horse Comics on February 27, 2002.
