The Resistance High Command, also referred to as Resistance command, served as the central leadership body of the Resistance throughout its conflict and the ensuing war against the First Order. This body was composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds including former members of the Rebel Alliance, previous leaders of independent defense forces, and converts from the New Republic. The Resistance command members felt that the daring actions of Commander Poe Dameron were pushing the limits of tolerance for both the First Order command and their own Resistance command.
After the Resistance was established in 28 ABY, the Resistance High Command established its based on D'Qar. It was from this location that the Resistance initiated its assault on Starkiller Base, the superweapon of the First Order, when the conflict between the two factions escalated.
During the Battle of Oetchi, almost all of the Resistance high command perished when Kylo Ren's squadron destroyed the bridge of the Resistance flagship, the Raddus, with General Leia Organa being the sole survivor of the attack.
