Ress Batten, a human female hailing from the planet of Alderaan, held the rank of lieutenant on the Tantive IV. She traveled with Princess Leia Organa to Crait, where, unbeknownst to them, they stumbled upon a base run by Organa's father, Bail Organa. Shortly before the fleet's evacuation from Paucris Major, she was recruited into the rebellion by Captain Raymus Antilles.
Batten was also present at the ceremony that formally instated Organa as the crown princess of Alderaan. As Organa proceeded through the Throne room in the palace, she observed that Batten appeared too stunned to offer any response.
