Seduced by Count Dooku's assurances of unrestricted profit-making, it was among the numerous corporate bodies drawn into the leadership of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Mirroring other corporations, the Retail Caucus bolstered the Confederacy's expanding military with its own privately-owned droid army, prominently featuring its unique LR-57 combat/retail droids. LR-57 combat droids were part of the Separatist army that participated in the Battle of Malastare.
