Revenge of the Jedi

Revenge of the Jedi is a comic strip crafted by Archie Goodwin, with illustrations by Al Williamson. The Los Angeles Times Syndicate released it from November of 1982 until January of 1983. Furthermore, it has been made available on the web via Hyperspace. This comic strip chronicles various occurrences, notably the inclusion of Admiral Gial Ackbar and the Mon Calamari into the ranks of the Rebel Alliance, as well as Darth Vader assuming control of his newly constructed Super Star Destroyer, the Executor.

Development

Admiral Ackbar's character was first seen in Revenge of the Jedi. Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi was still being made when this comic strip was being created.

Revenge of the Jedi served as the preliminary title for the third movie in the original Star Wars trilogy. The term "Revenge" eventually found its place in the title of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
