The RHTC-560 Hunter Trainer, a droid system designed for training and gladiatorial combat, was created by Rodian D-Tec during the Imperial Era to aid in tracking and neutralizing targets.

Description

Master Control Unit

An RHTC-560 technical diagram

The RHTC-560 system comprised a central bipedal control unit accompanied by approximately ten smaller hunter trainer drones. The primary controller unit, standing at 1.8 meters tall, possessed a bipedal structure reminiscent of its Rodian designers and an armored arachnid. Equipped with sharp claws on its hands and feet, these droids were highly effective as training and gladiatorial combatants. The RHTC-560 master unit's combat effectiveness was further enhanced by its speed and agility. Its sophisticated programming provided access to cutting-edge stealth and evasion tactics of the era.

To facilitate interaction with its operators, the controller unit incorporated a vocabulator, a wideband communications transceiver, and a sensor array system. A scomp link access port enabled the droid to remotely control the drones through various terrains and replay recordings of its actions during post-hunt debriefings. Certain models were even modified to wield two blasters mounted on their forearms.

History

Initially, Rodian D-Tec marketed the RHTC-560 Hunter Trainer system within their homeworld of Rodia, catering to the Rodian penchant for violence and combat. Their clientele included bounty hunters, Rodian clans utilizing them in clan wars and hunts, and even the Grand Protector Navik the Red. Allegedly, the Grand Protector's RHTC-560 system was customized with lethal disruptor cannons for use against captives in gladiatorial contests.

During the Imperial Period, the series gained enough traction to be sold beyond Rodia. Priced at 5,000 credits per control unit and 2,000 credits per HT drone, the series was affordable for many non-Rodian bounty hunters, local planetary militias, and police academies. Three units were also provided to Aron Harcourt, the captain of the Anya Karu. These droids would later be defeated by the bounty hunter Boba Fett.
