Rick, also known by his job title Door Technician, was a human serving in the Galactic Empire's army as a scout trooper within the Stormtrooper Corps.
In the year 9 BBY, Rick was assigned to Imperial Post 8L-055 on the planet of Koboh, where he worked as the door technician. While stationed there, the Jedi Knight named Cal Kestis launched an assault on the post, resulting in the deaths of numerous troopers, including many of Rick's fellow soldiers. When the Jedi made his way into a corridor that led to a turbolift for the Summit Ridge, the incensed Door Technician confronted Kestis, yelling and rushing towards him, hoping that if command saw him defeat the jedi, he would earn a promotion and commendation.
Despite Rick's confidence in his ability to defeat him, Kestis defeated the Door Technician, ending his life before continuing his journey.
Rick was clad in white and black scout trooper armor along with a black harness. During combat, Rick wielded an electro riot baton, which he brandished menacingly during his confrontation with Kestis.
The character of Rick the Door Technician made an appearance as an optional boss encounter in the 2023 video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, developed by Respawn Entertainment. His voice acting was provided by Yuri Lowenthal. Despite having a unique name and a health bar, similar to other boss characters, Rick's combat statistics are identical to those of standard scout troopers found throughout the game. Furthermore, players have the option to bypass the encounter entirely, avoiding the fight with Rick the Door Technician altogether.
