Rillik, a Katikoot of the male variety, was related to prominent figures. He was the nephew of the minister of works, Kittik, and also the cousin of Kittik's daughter, Mittik. Formerly, Rillik held a position as a miner on Gloam, which is the twin planet to Aubadas, the Katikoot species's planet of origin. It was there that Rillik became infected with the miner's curse, a common ailment among those who toiled in the mines.
