Gloam, a world located in the Galactic Frontier, suffered extreme devastation and damage. Serving as the twin planet to Aubadas, Gloam was initially the homeworld for the Katikoot, a sentient species. The Katikoot were compelled to abandon Gloam for Aubadas many millennia prior to the High Republic Era; this was after mining operations triggered a plague that transformed members of their kind into zombie-esque monsters. As time passed, the Katikoot lost the memory of their beginnings and restarted mining on Gloam due to Aubadas' limited resources, yet tales of the sealed-away monsters persisted. The planet's environment deteriorated because of the mining, and by approximately 382 BBY, Gloam was nearing a complete environmental breakdown.
