Ritual Tale of Kibh Jeen

The experimental training protocol known as the Ritual Tale of Kibh Jeen was implemented at the Almas Academy for Padawans.

Kibh Jeen, a Jedi Padawan, succumbed to the dark side during a visit to the Almas Sith fortress. He murdered his master and wreaked havoc throughout the Cularin system during the Dark Jedi Conflict, until his demise in 181 BBY. Subsequently, the Jedi Order made the decision to construct an Academy on Almas, the same planet as the fortress, to maintain surveillance over it.

Nerra Ziveri, a Jedi Master and the headmaster of the Academy from its founding in 119 BBY, believed that exposing students to the consequences of the dark side was the most effective way to safeguard them. Each year, Ziveri would recount the story of Kibh Jeen to the students, cautioning them against the allure of the dark side and the temptation to venture into the nearby fortress. This became the inaugural Ritual Tale of Kibh Jeen.

Eventually, Ziveri ceased personally narrating the Ritual Tale, entrusting this responsibility to one of the most senior students.

Over time, the students transformed the narrative Tale into a theatrical performance. A Master would take on the challenging role of Jeen, while the older students played the remaining parts. In years with a surplus of senior students, multiple performances were staged, fostering a friendly competition that emphasized drama, meaning, and insightful interpretations.

Lanius Qel-Bertuk, who succeeded Ziveri as headmaster, maintained this tradition.
