Everon

History

Before the age known as the High Republic Era, the Evereni placed their faith in their tempestuous homeworld of Everon, endeavoring to coexist peacefully with the natural world; however, the Great Storm arrived, manifesting as a vortex storm originating from the planet's core, unleashing powerful winds and lightning, and ultimately decimating the civilization of the native Evereni.

Following the Great Storm, the Evereni engaged in a succession of centuries-spanning conflicts over the dwindling resources. This series of wars brought the Evereni close to total annihilation, compelling the surviving members to flee the planet around 500 BBY and evolve into what became known as the Wanderers. Many years after his people had abandoned their world, the later Evereni individual Marchion Ro considered his flagship, the Gaze Electric, to be the closest thing he had to a home.

Behind the scenes

Charles Soule, a Star Wars author involved in the Star Wars: The High Republic project, conceived the planet Everon and its Evereni inhabitants. Everon was initially mentioned in an indirect manner within Soule's 2021 High Republic novel, The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, as a homeworld upon which Marchion Ro mused. It was later explicitly identified as Everon in The High Republic: Eye of the Storm 1, where it made its debut appearance through flashback sequences. Soule subsequently verified that the homeworld Ro contemplated in Light of the Jedi was indeed intended to be his species's homeworld of Everon, and not a separate planet that the Ro family had at one point claimed as their own homeworld.
