The Rockhound was a Colossus I Beta Series asteroid tug from the BramDorc Corporation and it belonged to Lando Calrissian.
Records indicate it was around as early as 524 BBY. Calrissian acquired the vessel from a Brubb prospector, triumphing in an arm wrestling contest that lasted six hours. An entirely droid workforce maintained the Rockhound. In 44 ABY, Luke Skywalker reached out to Calrissian, seeking assistance in navigating the Maw for his impending mission alongside his Sith allies, and Calrissian consented. He dedicated the subsequent two weeks to refurbishing and upgrading the Rockhound. Following this, he journeyed to Klatooine before rendezvousing with the Sith and Jedi just outside the Maw. The Rockhound employed its tractor beams to shield the small fleet of starships. Upon reaching their initial destination within the Maw, Sinkhole Station, they discovered its destruction. When two Sith ChaseMaster frigates entered the debris field, the Rockhound made an attempt to pull them to safety, successfully stopping one. However, the other frigate's velocity was too high, resulting in its annihilation upon impact with the debris. After the mission's conclusion, Skywalker dispatched the Rockhound, carrying Calrissian and Jedi Knight Jaina Solo, to deliver a report back to Coruscant. Unbeknownst to them, a droid with an impostor protocol had infiltrated the ship, issuing deceptive commands to the other droids on board using Calrissian's voice.
