Roman Herbane, a human of male sex, held the position of Director at the Helical HyperCom installation situated on Lokori. Li-Tan, his executive secretary, was the individual who welcomed the Erso family upon their initial arrival at the Helical HyperCom headquarters located in Fucallpa. Galen Erso did not foster a particularly positive relationship with Herbane, as he yearned for a greater degree of autonomy in his research endeavors than was permitted. Furthermore, Herbane denied Galen's proposal to extend the HH shield's coverage to encompass a larger portion of Fucallpa. During the culminating conflict and invasion of Lokori in 19 BBY, Herbane sustained the loss of a limb, which he subsequently replaced with a synthskin prosthetic. Ultimately, HH extended an offer to Galen to assume Herbane's responsibilities as chief operating officer. Galen declined this proposition, citing both his lack of proficiency in administrative matters and his preference for overseeing his personal research projects.
