Jedi who wandered, such as Ahsoka Tano, were referred to as Ronin.
Within the Melitto culture, the term ronin signified a male combatant who lived through the fall of his myrmitrix, thus becoming a banished individual without a hive. Sarco Plank, a ronin, ultimately found employment as a bounty hunter, a jungle guide, and a tomb raider located on Devaron.
The designation Ronin could also describe Jedi who were wandering. As an example, Ahsoka Tano was considered a Ronin. Grand Admiral Thrawn expressed to Tano that being marooned on the desolate lands of the planet Peridea was a fitting situation for her.
The Melitto ronin made their initial appearance in The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure, a junior novel penned by Jason Fry, specifically through the character Sarco Plank. However, the actual term was first used in Star Wars: Aliens of the Galaxy, which was also authored by Fry. In the real world, rōnin were considered to be wandering samurai warriors without a master.
