Rudaga, a Dug merchant, operated an antique store situated on Otor's Hub. Similar to numerous other merchants located on the space station, he engaged in the trade of black market goods, slaves, and also functioned as a spy for the Galactic Empire to supplement his earnings. Because his work was morally questionable, Rudaga employed Trandoshan bodyguards. In the year 0 ABY, the Empire contacted Rudaga with a request to house Seyn Marana, a member of Inferno Squad, who would act as his slave. Marana's scheme involved being captured by members of the Partisan splinter group known as the Dreamers. It was known that the Dreamers were operating on Otor's Hub, freeing slaves and striking at anyone allied with the Empire. When the Dreamers showed up at Rudaga's establishment, Marana reassured the Dug of his safety. However, Marana's statement was only meant to ease his worries, and the rebels killed him inside his own office.
