Ruisto

The world of Ruisto was primarily terrestrial, characterized by small oceans with high saline content. It served as the home for a Mon Calamari colony, who had established modest shipyards in orbit around the planet.

Between the years of 4400 and 4200 BBY, the Mon Calamari chose Ruisto as the very first planet to colonize beyond their own star system.

In 4166 BBY, scouts from the Old Republic initially encountered Mon Calamari starships close to Ruisto as the Perlemian Trade Route was being extended.

In 2 ABY, Grand Moff Therbon, in his advanced years, became increasingly annoyed by his failure to reclaim Mon Calamari. Because the Empire declined to assemble a fleet of sufficient size to attack the Mon Calamari homeworld, the Mon Calamari settlement on Ruisto became an acceptable alternative objective. The Empire sent an assault fleet of Star Destroyers to bombard Ruisto. During the offensive, Grand Moff Therbon gave the order for a sustained orbital bombardment that wiped out all life forms residing on Ruisto.
