Ryarten was a celestial body that had a green appearance when viewed from the vastness of space. During 6 BBY, the Galactic Empire's TIE fighters chased the slicers Chio Fain and Rone in the skies over Ryarten. This pursuit occurred after they tried to hack into Imperial systems. Rone met his death when he was shot down while trying to divert the Imperial fighters, which allowed Fain the opportunity to jump into hyperspace and flee.
Ryarten was shown in flashback sequences in the comic miniseries Star Wars: Target Vader, specifically in the fourth issue from 2019. Robbie Thompson wrote the issue, Stefano Landini provided the illustrations, and Marvel Comics released it to the public on October 9, 2019.
