Target Vader #4 represents the fourth installment of the canon comic book miniseries titled Star Wars: Target Vader. Robbie Thompson penned the story, Stefano Landini provided the illustrations, and Marvel Comics released it on October 9, 2019. This particular issue showcases the tale "The Shot," where Beilert Valance and his assembled team confront Darth Vader.
THE HUNTERS ARE NOW THE HUNTED! DARTH VADER finds himself in a precarious position, isolated and beset by a group of ruthless bounty hunters. However, the DARK LORD OF THE SITH is far from helpless, drawing power from the Dark Side of the Force! VALANCE and his fellow bounty hunters quickly discover that the tables have turned, becoming the prey as Vader systematically eliminates them. Adding to the betrayal, one of Valance's own allies is secretly aiding Vader!

An Imperial II-class Star Destroyer appears in the skies above Heva. Its captain informs General Gollin that the Formidable, along with its squadron of TIE fighters, was obliterated by bot-drones, leaving Darth Vader stranded on the planet's surface. The captain suggests deploying their own fighters to extract Vader from the pursuing bounty hunters. However, Gollin expresses confidence that Vader will have dealt with the bounty hunters before any rescue mission can even commence.
On Heva's surface, Dengar presses Beilert Valance and the rest of the team to engage Vader directly, but Valance and Chio Fain caution him against revealing their locations prematurely. Vader also tries to obscure his presence, utilizing the Force to stir up dust clouds from the ground. Fain initiates the attack with blasters, but Vader skillfully deflects the incoming bolts with his lightsaber, inadvertently striking Valance with a deflected shot. Urrr'k immediately assists Valance, removing her Tusken Raider mask and revealing herself to be a Human woman named Gita. Valance assures her that he is not mortally wounded, but acknowledges that Vader will quickly eliminate Fain.

Fain persisted in his assault on Vader, but the Sith Lord swiftly severs three of the Ardennian's arms and hurls him into the path of Honnah's Gamorrean battle-ax. As Fain succumbs to his injuries, he recalls his fallen comrade Rone, who was previously killed by Vader. Valance instructs Gita to take her shot at Vader as a diversion. While Vader uses the Force to subdue Gita and eliminates Honnah, Valance charges at him wielding an electro-pulse weapon. Regrettably, he fails to activate the device in time, and Vader turns to confront him. Unexpectedly, Valance is then incapacitated by an electrocution attack from Dengar, who reveals himself to be Vader's informant.
