The S-DST was a type of aquatic destroyer utilized by the Trade Federation around the time of the Invasion of Naboo. Functioning as anti-ship weaponry, it was armed with cutting lasers that acted as energy pummels. Featuring a clamshell-like structure, it belonged to a series that also featured the S-HDST. A Sith Lord, Darth Maul, along with Commander OOM-9, made use of one such destroyer to bring into submission one of Naboo's sentient species: the Gungans. This destroyer transported B1-series battle droids as well as destroyer droids to Otoh Gunga, the Gungan capital, only to discover the city had been deserted.
The Trade Federation's S-DST appears in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. The vehicle was also featured in the 2002 expansion pack for the game, known as Clone Campaigns. Furthermore, the S-DST is present in the 2012 short story "End Game," penned by James Luceno and incorporated into the re-release of the novelization of Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
