Saber Squadron, a starfighter squadron, was established by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker in 27 ABY for the Eclipse Station during the Yuuzhan Vong War. This unit, composed of both Jedi and non-Jedi members, served as Luke Skywalker's own specialized squadron. The initial lineup featured Luke himself, Mara Jade Skywalker, a group of seven non-Jedi pilots, and six recently trained Jedi pilots, one of whom was Tam Azur-Jamin.
The Battle of Coruscant resulted in such heavy pilot casualties for Saber Squadron that Luke decided to merge it with Shocker Squadron. Subsequently, the remaining members from both squadrons went on to form the notorious Twin Suns Squadron. It was later reformed as its original unit during the Second Battle of Obroa-skai.
