Park of Sacred Pools

Xanatos commits suicide in the Park Once a place of unspoiled beauty, the Park of Sacred Pools represented one of the natural sacred locations that were supposedly under the protection of the Telosian government. Before 44 BBY, the fallen Jedi named Xanatos made his way back to his homeworld. He brought with him the mining capabilities of the Offworld Mining Corporation. While masking his true intentions with a facade of games and politics, he began to mine and devastate many of Telos's most revered locations, notably the Sacred Pools. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, aided by the con artist Den and POWER party member Andra, intervened to halt Xanatos's desecration of these sites. However, this was not before the once-pristine Sacred Pools had suffered severe pollution due to the mining operations. At the time of Xanatos's final confrontation, the pools were bubbling, blackish, and extremely toxic, capable of rapidly dissolving flesh. They emitted a constant stream of yellowish, poisonous fumes. The area surrounding the pools was volcanically active, marked by hardened lava formations and fissures that intermittently released large plumes of steam.

During his last battle against Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, Xanatos skillfully used the steam eruptions to keep the two Jedi at bay. However, when reinforcements arrived to support his former master, Xanatos found himself trapped near one of the pools. Choosing not to be captured alive or killed by his former mentor, Xanatos threw himself into the pool behind him, where he dissolved almost instantly. In the aftermath of this incident, the Telosian government pledged to remediate the damage inflicted upon the sacred sites by Offworld.
