UniFy acted as the public face of the Offworld Mining Corporation on Telos IV. This corporation was under the command of Xanatos, a dark Jedi. Following his failed attempt to destroy the Jedi Temple located on Coruscant, Xanatos utilized UniFy to maintain control over Telos, providing him with a safe haven.
The corporation, UniFy, held authority over Katharsis, which was the gambling obsession of Telos. Through manipulation, UniFy and Xanatos influenced Vox Chun, the government treasurer, to mandate that Katharsis winners – selected in advance – share their winnings with the corporation. These funds were then used to finance UniFy's (and ultimately the Offworld Corporation's) clandestine mining activities on the planet.
Seeking to uncover proof of UniFy's illicit activities, Qui-Gon Jinn, a Jedi Master, along with his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi, and aided by Denetrus, a smuggler, managed to infiltrate the corporate offices situated in Thani, Telos's capital city.
