Salmagodro Grand Academy

The Salmagodro Grand Academy, a center for advanced learning, took its designation from the Salmagodro system located within the Inner Rim. Among its faculty was Hu Jibwe, a respected scholar specializing in military history. Hu provided two commentaries featured in the article "A LONG TIME AGO..." by Eschul Shaywa. This article, published in Imperial Center Today in 2 ABY, explored the limited historical data concerning the Taungs and Zhell, two groups whose 200,000-year-old conflict is the subject of the ancient epic Dha Werda Verda. In his first commentary, Hu discussed the related, more contemporary Mandalorian war chant known as "Rage of the Shadow Warriors." The second passage saw Hu contrasting the likely historical inaccuracies present in popular portrayals of the conflict described in Dha Werda Verda with the inherent literary merit of the epic itself.

Behind the scenes

Initially, the Salmagodro Grand Academy was slated for inclusion in The Essential Guide to Warfare, a 2012 reference work authored by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart. However, the section referencing the academy was ultimately removed prior to the book's publication. Subsequently, in 2013, it was released as part of Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Warfare Author's Cut, a collection of articles published on the StarWars.com Blog by Fry and Del Rey editor Erich Schoeneweiss, showcasing various excised segments from the book.
