Shimmersilk was known to be a very valuable textile. A scarf crafted from shimmersilk could easily be worth at least 1,000 credits. Around the time of 0 ABY, elegant gowns fashioned from pale-purple shimmersilk were highly fashionable amongst elite Imperial women. A specific variety of shimmersilk, called Tyrian shimmersilk, comprised the Chandrilan tunic and mantle worn by senator Mon Mothma of Chandrila. Margo was seen wearing a black shimmersilk gown while she was on the First Light in 10 BBY.
