Following the skirmish that occurred on the planet of Batuu, Grysk captives escaped from their holding cells, resulting in an encounter with Commander Kimmund and his 1st legion, while they were on the Chimaera.
After the Grysk heavy freighters were infiltrated, Kimmund and his legion discovered some Grysk warriors who were willing to surrender. Chiss Grand Admiral Thrawn then instructed Kimmund to bring the captives to the Chimaera for analysis. Once the captives were secured on the Chimaera, Thrawn directed that they be placed in a space normally designated for TIE pilots. This made Kimmund uneasy due to its proximity to the hangar bay, raising concerns about a potential escape.
Consequently, Kimmund, along with some others, chose to spend the night on the Darkhawk. After a short period of relaxation, they heard a loud noise, which was identified as Rukh, Thrawn's Noghri protector and killer.
