The Battle of Kabray occurred during the Nagai invasion in the year 4 ABY, and it was a minor conflict.
Following the Battle of Endor and the subsequent establishment of the Alliance of Free Planets, some members voiced complaints regarding the perceived authoritarian style of the Alliance's leadership. These dissatisfied individuals convened on Kabray to discuss their grievances. The majority of those present at this meeting were civilians within the Alliance, having contributed minimally to the Rebellion's struggle against the Empire.
Admiral Gial Ackbar dispatched Princess Leia and Han Solo, accompanied by four Zeltrons as bodyguards, to the assembly. Their mission was to address the concerns of the dissenters and demonstrate that the leadership was attentive and responsive to their needs.
The Nagai leadership identified this gathering as a prime opportunity to destabilize the Alliance's diplomatic efforts. Consequently, they sent 13 Nagai warriors, under the command of Knife, with orders to capture the non-combatant attendees.
Before the Alliance representatives arrived, the Nagai forces successfully apprehended the group of diplomats. Upon their arrival, Leia and Han unknowingly walked into an ambush and were taken prisoner without resistance. The six captives were relieved of their weapons and confined to a sealed room.
While Han and Leia attempted to devise a strategy, which involved Leia feigning unconsciousness, the Zeltrons independently formulated their own plan. They lifted Jahn up to the ceiling, where he managed to wedge himself into the corner above the doorway. As a Nagai guard entered the room, Jahn leaped onto him, tackling him to the floor.
The remaining Zeltrons then surged out of the cell and engaged the remaining Nagai in a fierce physical altercation. Han and Leia seized blasters from the incapacitated Nagai and joined the fray. Ultimately, the Alliance team managed to subdue and capture all of the Nagai warriors.
Although the Nagai were prevented from achieving a strategic victory, the Kabray skirmish also yielded positive outcomes for the Alliance. The dissenting member worlds recognized the necessity of a robust military force within the Alliance and were reassured by the decisive actions taken by the Alliance leadership.
News of this setback reached the Nagai leaders on Kinooine, Den Siva and Lumiya. Subsequently, they resolved to invade Zeltros in order to eliminate the threat posed by the Zeltrons.
