Slide Paramita, a Ciasi male individual, earned his living as a Podracer pilot around 32 BBY. Known for his arrogance and fussiness, he held a low opinion of Podracer pilots who favored large, powerful machines. Instead, he relied on a small Pizer-Errol Stinger 627 S and his own cleverness to achieve victory in races. Despite its delicate nature, his craft handled turns exceptionally well, proving to be a significant advantage on the galaxy's more winding tracks. He became a favorite of the spectators at the Ando Prime Centrum, a sizable course located on the snowy world of Ando Prime, famous for its tight turns and narrow, serpentine passages.

Slide Paramita, the Ciasi male, gained notoriety throughout the Podracing world for his quick reactions and even quicker temper while racing, with his career peaking around 32 BBY, in the closing decades of the Galactic Republic. He was a somewhat arrogant Podracer, preferring vehicles built for speed and maneuverability, such as his customized yellow Pizer-Errol Stinger 627 S, a Podracer celebrated for its handling. This allowed the Ciasi to navigate the sharp turns found on various tracks across the galaxy. However, the Stinger was also known for being fragile and lacking top speed. To compensate for the speed deficit, Paramita's racer included a rapid cooling system which allowed him to frequently use boost and surprise his rivals. However, if he ever found himself lagging behind other racers, his focus would often break, and he would become aggressive, venting his anger on the other pilots using his Podracer.
An expert when it came to racing on ice, Paramita became well-known for his performance on the tracks of the icy world Ando Prime. One such track was the Ando Prime Centrum, a large course that wound its way through a water purification plant and then through one of Ando Prime's busy cities. The track's non-linear layout meant that pilots often had to forge their own path through the city. Paramita mastered the track enough to become a favorite of the crowds, as his agile craft was ideally suited for navigating the tight tunnels, serpentine corridors, and long straights that were perfect for his boost thrusters.
Paramita found further success on Ando Prime, becoming a favored pilot on a drag course, where he challenged other pilots to head-to-head races.
Slide Paramita was known to dislike large Podracers, and was also known for his short fuse. He disagreed with using large vehicles for racing, preferring smaller craft built for speed and agility, such as his own Pizor-Errol racer. His temper, however, sometimes sparked an aggressiveness in him that jeopardized his fragile vehicle. Generally, his temper flared when he found himself trailing behind the competition with his modified craft, at which point he would begin using the Pizor-Errol as a lethal high-speed weapon. Still, the Ciasi pilot was most comfortable on Ando Prime, where his ice racing abilities were unmatched. Paramita had a habit of insulting pilots he either overtook or was overtaken by.
In terms of physical appearance, Paramita was fairly slender, with brownish-gray skin and small black eyes. He was also somewhat athletic, able to perform back-flips with relative ease, and he often stretched to loosen up his muscles.

Slide Paramita's primary racing vehicle was a modified yellow Pizor-Errol Stinger Podracer. Despite featuring a high-end accelerator, the craft was known to have poor top speed. However, many of the vehicle's shortcomings were offset by its impressive handling system, which gave it excellent turn response and allowed it to effortlessly glide around corners. The vehicle helped Paramita excel on the narrow turns and tight bends of Ando Prime. In addition, the Podracer's cooling system allowed him to frequently use boost, allowing him to outrun his rivals and snatch last-second victories.
When racing, Paramita wore a racing uniform that matched the color of his Stinger. The outfit was recognizable for the "wings" on the shoulders and thighs.
Slide Paramita initially appeared in concept art and early scripts for the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace as a Podracer pilot from the planet Tund. Ultimately, he was removed from the script, although Tund remained as the homeworld of another Podracer pilot, Ben Quadinaros. Furthermore, Paramita's final design was originally assigned the name Teemto Pagalies, while Paramita had a very different—and ultimately unused—design. Paramita, along with several other scrapped Podracers, made his first official appearance in the 1999 Nintendo 64 video game Star Wars Episode I: Racer, where he was voiced by Tom Kane, who also voiced another racer, Elan Mak, in the game.
The name of Paramita's species, Ciasi, appeared in a 2006 Star Wars: Blogs non-canon fan article titled "Alien species concepts that became part of the SW universe," written by Tim Veekhoven as part of his Source Blog series, which may have been derived from early drafts of The Phantom Menace. In The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia, released in 2008, the name Ciasi was mentioned again under Paramita's entry, thus establishing the species in canon.
