Soganti

Soganti, a male Human, functioned as an agent within the Galactic Republic's Republic Customs Office. During the Cold War era, a period of tension between the Republic and the re-established Sith Empire, he received a posting to the planet Taris, which was undergoing a restoration effort. His mission involved investigating the activities of Beryl Thorne, a smuggler, but he was unable to uncover any concrete proof against her. Soganti then made an offer to another smuggler, who would later become known as the Voidhound, suggesting they betray Thorne. However, the smuggler instead alerted Beryl to Soganti's pursuit, enabling her to escape. Subsequently, the smuggler managed to leave Taris undetected, bypassing Soganti with the aid of falsified documents.

Biography

The Republic Customs Office dispatched Agent Soganti to Taris during the Cold War. His assignment was to monitor smuggling operations entering and exiting the planet. His inherent suspicion led him to conduct frequent searches of Beryl Thorne's storage facility, but he consistently failed to find any illicit goods.

In the year 3643 BBY, Soganti extended a greeting to a captain of a Corellian XS stock light freighter - who would eventually be known as the Voidhound - upon their arrival at Olaris Spaceport. He issued a stern warning against engaging in any smuggling activities. Soganti later encountered the Voidhound while leading a pair of customs officials during another unproductive search of Thorne's warehouse. This prompted Soganti to become suspicious of the Voidhound, leading him to order surveillance of the captain's activities.

After the Voidhound returned to and exited their ship, Soganti approached them. He demanded that the captain confess how Thorne was smuggling artifacts off Taris, even proposing a substantial payment in return for their testimony. Despite the offer, the Voidhound refused to provide any information against Thorne. Ultimately, Soganti was forced to depart, but not before reminding the Voidhound that justice would eventually catch up with all criminals.
