Sonam-Ha'ar, a male Human Jedi Master, existed during the time of the Great Hyperspace War. A long-time companion of Jedi Master Memit Nadill, Sonam-Ha'ar attended a Galactic Senate meeting in 5000 BBY. At this meeting, Nadill and Empress Teta of the Koros system cautioned about the imminent return of the Sith. The warnings of Nadill and Teta proved accurate when the Sith attacked Coruscant with a seemingly unstoppable invading force. Sonam-Ha'ar, along with Nadill and other Jedi, participated in the conflict, but triumph seemed improbable despite their best efforts. However, a significant portion of the Sith force vanished during the battle, revealing them to be mere illusions. Capitalizing on this opportunity to shift the battle's momentum, Sonam-Ha'ar spearheaded an assault into the core of the Sith forces, resulting in a victory for the Galactic Republic.
Leading up to the Great Hyperspace War, Sonam-Ha'ar served as a male Human Jedi Master. Throughout his time as a Jedi, Sonam-Ha'ar developed a strong friendship with Memit Nadill, another Jedi Master. In 5000 BBY, Jedi Knight Odan-Urr, serving Empress Teta of the Koros system, experienced a vision indicating the return of the Sith. Concerned, Odan-Urr, Empress Teta, and Nadill journeyed to Coruscant to share this premonition with the Galactic Senate. Sonam-Ha'ar was among the Jedi present at this Senate session. While many Jedi dismissed Odan-Urr's warning, Sonam-Ha'ar remained silent. Odan-Urr's premonitions were validated when a massive Sith fleet appeared in the Koros system and launched an assault on the planet Koros Major. As the Sith initiated their attack, Memit Nadill urgently messaged Coruscant, fearing an imminent strike there, prompting Sonam-Ha'ar and other Jedi to meet Nadill at a Coruscant landing pad. Vowing Jedi assistance in the impending conflict, Sonam-Ha'ar prepared for battle, but suddenly, Coruscant's invasion alarms blared.

An enormous battle fleet, composed of tens of thousands of ships, materialized above Coruscant. From these warships, Sith dropships deployed an invading force onto the planet. Confronted by a vast army of Sith Massassi warriors and Sith war behemoths, Sonam-Ha'ar, Memit Nadill, and their fellow Jedi resolved to make their stand on the steps of the Senate Building. The Jedi fearlessly engaged in the intense battle, fighting with great intensity, but it appeared the Sith would prevail. Unexpectedly, the majority of the Sith forces simply vanished, revealed to be mere illusions. Recognizing an opportunity to reverse the battle's course, Sonam-Ha'ar and the other Jedi charged the Sith, eliminating the remaining enemy forces and securing victory in the Battle of Coruscant. Overjoyed by their triumph, Sonam-Ha'ar and the Jedi declared that the Galactic Republic would endure.
Sonam-Ha'ar possessed the qualities of a valiant and seasoned Jedi Knight, demonstrating unwavering resolve in confronting the Sith, even when defeat seemed inevitable. He strongly supported the Republic, firmly believing in its invincibility. Ha'ar shared a close bond with Memit Nadill, standing alongside him during the Battle of Coruscant. In combat, Sonam-Ha'ar wielded a lightsaber with a blue blade.
Sonam-Ha'ar's character initially appeared in Tales of the Jedi: The Golden Age of the Sith, a story arc within the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic book series, authored by Kevin J. Anderson. He made a brief appearance in the arc's fourth installment and reappeared in Golden Age of the Sith's subsequent arc, Tales of the Jedi: The Fall of the Sith Empire, where he played a more significant role. In these depictions, Sonam-Ha'ar was illustrated by Dario Carrasco, Jr., with preliminary black-and-white sketches of the character featured in the back of Golden Age of the Sith's first issue. Sonam-Ha'ar was later portrayed in an illustration of the Battle of Coruscant by Bill Hughes in The Essential Chronology, penned by Anderson and Daniel Wallace. He was also featured in another illustration of the Battle of Coruscant within the reference book Jedi vs. Sith: The Essential Guide to the Force, drawn by Chris Trevas.
