Dario Carrasco, Jr.


Dario Carrasco, Jr. Dario Carrasco, Jr. is a professional artist, having contributed to numerous comic book publishing houses, notably Marvel Comics and Dark Horse Comics. Within the Star Wars fan base, he is most recognized for his collaborative efforts with Kevin J. Anderson on several comic book series: Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi — The Sith War, The Golden Age of the Sith, The Fall of the Sith Empire, and Jedi Academy: Leviathan. In 2002, he launched his own digital comic enterprise, Panday Studio, which serves as a training ground for aspiring comic artists. Currently, Dario Carrasco, Jr. resides in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada.

Biography

The first published artwork of Dario Carrasco, Jr. appeared in 1990 through Rocket Comics, based out of Vancouver, British Columbia. After initially breaking into the comic book world, Carrasco was employed by a number of smaller comic companies, ultimately creating artwork for Marvel Comics on a variety of different comic book stories between 1992 and 1994.

Carrasco served as an artist for Dark Horse Comics from 1994 to 1998, where he partnered with writer Kevin J. Anderson on a number of Star Wars projects. Among these collaborations, he was the artist for three story arcs of Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War, The Golden Age of the Sith, and The Fall of the Sith Empire. After completing his contributions to Tales of the Jedi, Carrasco and Anderson collaborated again on the Jedi Academy: Leviathan comic series, which centered around characters Anderson originally conceived for his Jedi Academy Trilogy novels.

Carrasco founded Panday Studio, his own online comic company, in 2002. The studio now provides an outlet for both emerging and established comic artists.
