Sovu

Darth Rivix was selected to command the recently established Hand of the Empire following its creation, which greatly annoyed Lord Sovu, who had come to resent Rivix.

Lord Sovu went with Darth Rivix to a secret location concerning Darth Nul; once inside, Sovu dismissed Rivix as feeble when Rivix asked for his assistance, although he admitted Rivix "had [his] uses." When Rivix activated a device belonging to Nul, revealing an unusual object that was later recognized as Darth Nul's lightsaber, Sovu tried to murder Rivix after Rivix mocked him about the identity of the strange item. However, as Sovu tried to seize the item from its protective barrier, he was shocked by a trap. Before killing him, Rivix repeated Sovu's previous comment, stating that the Sith Lord was useful.

Lord Sovu believed he possessed greater power than others recognized, even though he was overlooked in favor of Darth Rivix as the leader of the Hand. This conviction fueled his criticism of his fellow Sith Lord and his attempt to murder him to achieve his ambitions.
