During 28 ABY, he joined Luke Skywalker, Jacen Solo, and Soron Hegerty for a reconnaissance mission to Munlali Mafir, and subsequently, a research expedition to Csilla, which is the capital world of the Chiss. He commanded a stormtrooper named Tarl, who was also a good friend. The Yuuzhan Vong attack on Bastion, the Imperial capital, resulted in the deaths of several of Stalgis's close companions.
