Star Wars: The Black Series

Star Wars: The Black Series (TBS) is an ongoing series of Star Wars toys that the Hasbro company began manufacturing in 2013. This toy line features various items such as 3.75" and 6" scale action figures, vehicles, Force FX lightsabers, and collectible items. In 2017, a special collection commemorating the 40th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope was launched within this line.

Many of the action figures are based on characters from the _Star Wars_ Legends continuity and the canon, including movies, TV shows, books, comics, and video games. Several Legends characters were produced as a result of Hasbro's Black Series Fan Choice initiative over the years, including Mara Jade Skywalker in 2012, Revan in 2015, and Jaina Solo in 2016. At Celebration Orlando, Timothy Zahn (Thrawn's creator) and Dave Filoni (who brought Thrawn into canon in Star Wars Rebels) announced that Grand Admiral Thrawn would be an upcoming six inch figure. The 3.75" action figure subline was stopped when Hasbro brought back its Star Wars: The Vintage Collection line in 2018.

Subscribers to Star Wars Insider 171 received a complimentary Black Series Titanium vehicle modeled after the First Order TIE Fighter.
