Plot summary

Rogue Squadron's valiant pilots receive orders to locate a missing Bothan cruiser. Upon discovering the vessel, they face an assault from a squadron of Imperial TIE fighters, resulting in Wedge Antilles being shot down. The situation prevents an immediate search. As the hours pass, the Rogues experience strange disturbances. The following day, a renewed search effort locates Antilles, but at the cost of additional casualties. Simultaneously, the Bothan leader, Girov Dza'tey, harbors hidden intentions. His covert military background proves advantageous when the local inhabitants launch an attack. Dza'tey infiltrates an ancient Sith Temple, not to save the lost Rogues, but with the aim of seizing its power. As the remaining survivors prepare for a final stand, reinforcements arrive from Eiattu 6. Dllr Nep, having been captured and exposed to the temple's dark energies, uses telepathy to reach the injured Herian I'ngre, guiding her in a suicide attack on the Sith Temple. This act destroys Dza'tey, themselves, and severs the connection with the corrupted natives. In the aftermath, the Rogues guide the Bothans away from the planet, observed by the ghosts of their fallen comrades.
