Star Wars (2013)

Star Wars is a series of comic books published by Dark Horse Comics that was first released in January of 2013. The series ended its run with issue 20 on August 13 in 2014.

The events portrayed in the series unfold in the time period between the films Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope and Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, specifically beginning two months after the Battle of Yavin. However, significant continuity discrepancies arise when compared to the established timeline of the Rebel Alliance following the Battle of Yavin. According to The New Essential Chronology and other sources, the Yavin blockade trapped the Alliance on Yavin for the initial six months after the battle, while the comic book series depicts the Alliance operating from their fleet in deep space.

On August 14, 2013, Brian Wood, the author, shared on social media that his contract involved writing Star Wars until issue twenty, which he anticipated would mark the conclusion of his involvement with the series.
