Star Wars Blips is a collection of brief animated videos on YouTube. These shorts are made by the official Star Wars YouTube channel and commonly showcase BB-8, frequently alongside R2-D2 or Chewbacca. The debut short premiered on May 3, 2017. The series also features a variety of droids and creatures, such as the porgs, BB-9E, 2BB-2, and BB-4, all of which were designed for the then-forthcoming movie, Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi](/article/star_wars:_episode_viii_the_last_jedi).
Initially, three episodes were launched via the official Star Wars app during the Find the Force event associated with Force Friday II. This event allowed shoppers to scan unique posters and standees in stores that were selling the new Force Friday II merchandise, which then unlocked AR prizes. Shortly after, these same episodes were also made available on YouTube. Furthermore, all of these episodes can be found on the streaming platform Disney+.
