The Star Wars Galaxy Map, a promotional poster "inspired by Star Wars: Timelines," was handed out at the 2022 Celebration Anaheim event. Jason Fry confirmed that, despite the initial StarWars.com announcement still indicating otherwise after the book's release, the map was not included with Star Wars: Timelines.
This poster was first shown at the Lucasfilm Publishing: Behind the Page panel on May 27, 2022. In contrast to Star Wars Droids Guide to a Galaxy Far, Far Away and the in-universe Traveler's Guide to Batuu, which explicitly label locations on their maps as planets, the Star Wars Galaxy Map does not do so. Although it uses different icons to distinguish between nebulae and space stations, the map's legend does not specify if the names appearing on the map represent planets, systems, or simply astronomical identifiers. However, Jason Fry has shared his perspective on the naming conventions he uses in maps he contributes to, explaining: "the idea is that the name on the map is the name in common galactic usage". According to Jason Fry, names on his "Atlas"-style maps do not necessarily imply the existence of a single astronomical object, such as a star or planet. He considers such assumptions about unmentioned entities in canon to be personal interpretations until confirmed by "future storytelling". Jason has also stated that "planets not assigned a system in [a] published source can be assumed to reside in [the] system of [the] same name." This article makes the assertion that Jason Fry's combined comments are applicable to the Star Wars Galaxy Map as an extension of Jason's Systems Database, which he and Lucasfilm have continued to maintain after Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm. For easy cross-referencing, the 749 labels are listed below exactly as they appear on the map, linking to a confirmed canon system name. If a system has not yet been explicitly named in a canon source, the label links to the namesake within that as-yet-unnamed system.
