Star Wars Missions 7: Ithorian Invasion represents the seventh installment in the Star Wars Missions series, a collection of books geared towards young readers that also incorporates roleplaying game elements. Scholastic released it to the public in March of 1998.
Grubba the Hutt has been taken hostage by bounty hunters and transported to Ithor. Your task is to rescue him. Momaw Nadon, the leader of the Ithorians, has offered his assistance. However, in exchange, you must help him lead a rebellion against the Empire. Imperial forces have seized control of Ithor's central hub, known as Tafanda Bay. Your mission is to free the Ithorians and locate Grubba the Hutt before it's too late.
May the Force be with you.
Piloting the Millennium Falcon, Captain Han Solo journeys to Ithor with the intention of recovering Grubba the Hutt. Accompanying him are Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan, Momaw Nadon, R2-D2, and C-3PO. To avoid being detected by the Imperial forces, Solo modifies the Falcon's transponder signal to mimic that of a diplomatic shuttle, while also pretending to be the ship belonging to Sir Vengnar Heiff, the Master Torturer. The Imperials grant them permission to approach the Tafanda Bay, a massive herdship located above Ithor. Simultaneously, on the Tafanda Bay, General Olan Dewes is giving Dengar, Eron Stonefield, and Udin a tour of the ship's botanical gardens. These three bounty hunters have successfully captured Grubba and are holding him securely on the herdship.
Solo stages a fake crash landing at the Nadon Shrine to prevent the Imperials from becoming suspicious when Heiff doesn't appear as expected. There, Nadon is joyfully reunited with his wife, Fandomar, and their son, Do-Forow. However, before allowing Solo and his companions to begin their search for Grubba, Nadon insists that they first seek guidance from The Oracle. The Oracle informs the group about the suffering of the Ithorians before directing them to the Tafanda Bay. Meanwhile, on the herdship, Dewes receives information that the real Heiff is en route to Ithor to interrogate captured Ithorians.
One of the Rebels is chosen to accompany Nadon to the Tafanda Bay. After spending the night in the jungle, the duo faces numerous threats, including encounters with Imperial stormtroopers. Eventually, they manage to board the Bay, where they are confronted by Ithorians who support the Empire, led by Boma Inondo. The Rebel throws the Ithorian into a pile of berries, causing the other Ithorians to back down and reveal that Sir Vengnar Heiff is on board. Planning to raid the Imperial armory and initiate a rebellion on the Bay, the Rebel and the Ithorians come across an IG-88 assassin droid, which they successfully destroy. After acquiring Imperial weapons, the Ithorians engage the Imperials, marking the beginning of the First Battle of Ithor. They seize control of the control room, capture General Dewes, and the Alliance Fleet arrives in the system, forcing the Imperial forces to retreat. The Rebel then attempts to locate Sir Heiff in the prison bays. After battling the Master Torturer, the Rebel defeats Heiff and leaves him at the mercy of the Ithorians. The Rebel then encounters the three bounty hunters, who flee the Bay with what appears to be a sack containing Grubba. Fortunately, the sack only contained Grubba's dinner, and the young Hutt is discovered safe and sound in one of the herdship's staterooms.
Solo contacts Jabba, requesting a meeting on Togoria to discuss the transfer of Grubba. The Hutt crimelord agrees but secretly informs Dengar of their meeting, instructing him to assassinate Solo upon his arrival.
