StarMark III Hyperdrive

The StarMark III Hyperdrive, a hyperdrive unit designed for spaceships, was manufactured by E'than Hypersystems. This particular hyperdrive model allowed for travel at speeds exceeding light by a factor of point four. Its visual design bore a resemblance to the T-14, a hyperdrive generator from a different manufacturer, commonly integrated into starships produced by Nubia Star Drives, Incorporated. Sometime before the Boonta Eve Classic podrace in 32 BBY, this hyperdrive was available for purchase on the distant planet of Tatooine for a price of 2,500 wupiupi, equivalent to 1,562 credits at the prevailing exchange time.

During this time, an extra–galactic spacer, having crash-landed on Tatooine, acquired a StarMark III Hyperdrive from Watto, a junk dealer, to repair their damaged starship and facilitate their departure from the desert planet.

Behind the scenes

The StarMark III Hyperdrive made its debut appearance in Star Wars Math: Jabba's Game Galaxy, a video game released in 2000 by Lucas Learning. Players could earn credits by completing various activities within the game and then use these credits to acquire components needed to rebuild a crashed spaceship. The StarMark III Hyperdrive was among the available parts for purchase. This specific item was essential for completing the game, as the player needed a hyperdrive unit to leave Tatooine with the repaired ship.
