Steng's Talons

Steng's Talons represented a hand-to-hand combat weapon employed by the Yuuzhan Vong. Constructed using sgauru bone material and adorned with yorik coral, these talons were surgically implanted into the physique of a warrior demonstrating exceptional combat prowess. Through muscular control, the warrior could lengthen or shorten the talons at will. The implantation procedure was fraught with peril, with only a small number of warriors surviving the escalation. Those who successfully endured the process were held in even higher esteem. The talons were a standard component of the equipment carried by the highly skilled Slayers.

The namesake of Steng's talons comes from Steng, who was the original warmaster.
