Stinger (clone trooper)

Known by the callsign "Arrow Nine," Stinger was a clone trooper pilot who served with distinction in Arrow Squadron. This Republic starfighter unit operated under the leadership of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker. During the conflict of the Clone Wars in 21 BBY, a galactic struggle between the Republic and the Separatists, Stinger took part in a battle against Separatist forces. This engagement occurred in orbit around the planet Kothlis. While Stinger engaged waves of Vulture droids, one of these fighters managed to shoot down his starfighter, resulting in the death of the clone.

Biography

Stinger was a designation given to one of the many clones created from the genetic template of Jango Fett, the Mandalorian bounty hunter. Like all his clone brothers, Stinger was produced on the planet Kamino. As the Clone Wars raged in 21 BBY, a galaxy-spanning war between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Stinger served as a member of Arrow Squadron, a starfighter unit within the Republic military. He was known by the callsign "Arrow Nine." The squadron, led by Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, was stationed aboard the cruiser Indomitable (Indomitable). The fleet to which they belonged was ordered to defend Kothlis from an impending attack by Confederate General Grievous. Stinger subsequently fought in the battle against the Separatist forces. The defense was more challenging than anticipated because of a computer virus deployed by Grievous, which jammed all external Republic communications, although internal helmet comlinks remained functional.

Skywalker ordered Stinger and the rest of Arrow Squadron to launch in their starfighters and engage the incoming waves of Separatist Vulture droids. During the engagement, Stinger found himself targeted by multiple Vulture droids and was unable to shake them. As Skywalker attempted to reach Stinger to provide assistance, one of the droid fighters shot down Stinger's fighter, resulting in his death.

Personality and traits

Stinger, a clone trooper pilot, was of a height of 1.83 standard meters. Just before Stinger's demise, he briefly experienced feelings of pain and anger. Skywalker sensed these emotions through the Force.
