Pirate attack at Stivic

The Stivic pirate attack, alternatively referred to as the Stivic incident, was a part of the Lioaoin pirate campaign that occurred circa 35 BBY. This event unfolded when Lioaoin pirates launched an assault on a Garwian merchant station situated above the Garwian Unity planet of Stivic, a crucial trade center for the various nations within the Chaos. Senior Captain Irizi'ar'alani commanding the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet cruiser Parala received an urgent distress signal from the Garwians. Senior Commander Mitth'raw'nuru implored her to intervene and aid the Garwians, emphasizing that the Lioaoins posed a threat to the Chiss Ascendancy as well. However, Mid Captain Roscu voiced opposition to this.

The Chiss Defense Force's established non-intervention policy forbade its personnel from initiating offensive actions, but it did not restrict them from observing conflicts involving other parties. Consequently, the Parala proceeded to the location to monitor the ongoing battle. Senior Captain Ziara authorized Thrawn to 'calibrate' the ranging lasers, which he then cleverly utilized to transmit a message to the Garwians via modulated laserfire, providing them with instructions on how to successfully repel the Lioaoins.
