Strike Base XR-484 functioned as the central command center for the Sith Empire located on Ossus throughout the Invasion of Ossus.
During the Invasion of Ossus, Strike Base XR-484 served as the primary operational hub for all Imperial activities on Ossus. It was built amongst a collection of starship debris, following the advice of the scouts who initially explored the world. These scouts accurately predicted that the Jedi would be more focused on examining ancient sites rather than investigating old shipwrecks. This foresight allowed the Imperials to set up their base without immediately alerting the enemy.
The soldiers of Raven Squad habitually called the base "the Nest," a name that Darth Malora deliberately avoided using during the Invasion of Ossus.
The bulk of the spacecraft wreckage surrounding XR-484 stemmed from accidents caused by the Cron Supernova hundreds of years earlier. Nevertheless, the remnants of more recently destroyed ships also existed during the time of the third Galactic War. This prompted speculation that unusual atmospheric or gravitational forces might have caused a disproportionately high concentration of wrecked spacecraft in this particular location.
