Lord Tagriss, a Human male and a Sith Lord, served the reconstituted Sith Empire. During the time of the Galactic War, he swore allegiance to the group known as the Dread Masters. Tagriss, in service to these new masters, led the Dread Guard in a raid targeting the Arcanum, a repository of forbidden Sith knowledge. During this raid, he secured numerous dark artifacts, including the Seeds of Rage, which he then employed to sow fear across numerous worlds. Ultimately, forces from both the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic hunted him down, and he was defeated on Ilum within a base there.
