Taika David Waititi, born on August 16, 1975, is a film director, screenwriter, and actor hailing from New Zealand. He's perhaps most recognized for his work on the 2014 movie What We Do in the Shadows and the 2017 Marvel Cinematic Universe production, Thor: Ragnarok. Furthermore, he took on the role of director for an episode of Star Wars' live-action television show, The Mandalorian, a series conceived by fellow Marvel director Jon Favreau. Waititi is also slated to direct and co-author, alongside Krysty Wilson-Cairns, a yet-to-be-named Star Wars project.
